Notice of CCG closure

From 1 July 2022 please visit our new ICB website

On 1 July 2022, the six Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent closed down and the functions of the CCGs transferred to a new NHS organisation, known as an integrated care board. The new organisation is responsible for NHS spend and the day-to-day running of the NHS in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

Therefore, South East Staffordshire and Seisdon Peninsula Clinical Commissioning Group no longer exists and the responsibilities of the CCG, along with the other CCGs in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, have transferred to the new NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board (ICB).

These changes have taken place under the new Health and Care Act 2022, which amongst other things aims to tackle health inequalities and create safer, more joined-up services that will put the health and care system on a more sustainable footing. There are no changes to how local residents access NHS frontline services in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent as part of these changes.

From 1 July 2022 if you visit this website, you will be re-directed to the new ICB website.

Services available in the community

on .

The CCG has commissioned a number of services that you would have traditionally gone to hospital for and made these available in your local community, to ensure you receive the right care closer to home and some offer you a choice of providers and locations to be seen in. If you have had a referral to a hospital or community service, read more about what to expect in this  pdf Patient Specialists Leaflet (88 KB) .

These services include:

  • Hearing Services
  • Vasectomy Services
  • Non-Obstetric Ultrasound Services
  • ENT Services (more information coming soon)
  • Dermatology Services

Hearing Services

Hearing Services have been commissioned under an  Any Qualified Provider (AQP) Programme which aims to give patients more choice as to where they receive select healthcare services.  There is no competition on price, as all services will receive a standard tariff for provision against an agreed service specification.

All providers offering AQP services have gone through an assessment process in order to become an accredited AQP provider, ensuring that all providers meet pre-defined quality standards.

The Hearing service specification from April 2017 is based on the national recommended standards

Dermatology Services

The management of non-urgent and non-cancer dermatology care for adults in south Staffordshire is now provided in the community by HealthHarmonie. Patients already receiving treatment at New Cross Hospital will remain with New Cross Hospital for the continuation of their treatment. New patients will now receive their care by one of HealthHarmonie’s dermatologists at one of several locations available.

All urgent suspected skin cancer referrals will continue to be sent to an acute hospital (Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust) for diagnosis and treatment.

All patients will receive an invitation to make an appointment with the new provider and when the appointment is due, one of the Clinic Administrators will contact patients directly to offer a choice of location, date and time.

Letters will then be sent in the post confirming the details of the agreed appointment, including the name of the doctor, along with a map and travel link information to help. Anyone wishing to review the doctors employed by HealthHarmonie can visit their website at or contact a member of their team on the details below:
