Accountable Officer

Marcus is the Accountable Officer for the six Staffordshire CCGs - this Cannock Chase, East Staffordshire (from March 2018), South East Staffordshire & Seisdon Peninsula, Stafford & Surrounds, Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire.

Marcus was previously the Accountable Officer for Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire CCGs. He has worked in the CCGs since they were authorised in April 2011. He has worked in the NHS for more than 20 years and spent five years in a joint appointment with a local authority, working in strategic partnerships and regeneration. His background is in public health and health promotion, but he has worked in a range of NHS commissioning roles for over ten years. 

In his role at the CCGs Marcus ensures they comply with their statutory duties and providing transformational and strategic leadership at Board level to ensure they are effective leaders and commissioners within the local health and social care system.
