Routine Dermatology services in South Staffordshire have been transferred to community provider HealthHarmonie

Patients with routine skin conditions in South Staffordshire are to receive care closer to home following a change in service provider.

From 1st December 2019, the management of non-urgent and non-cancer dermatology care in adults, which is currently provided at New Cross Hospital, will transfer from the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT) to community provider HealthHarmonie. In addition, patients who are on biologics will continue to receive treatment from RWT.

HealthHarmonie are the existing provider of Community Dermatology Services in the area who support delivery of Skin Care and management of skin conditions. Delivering NHS care for routine conditions will enable the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust to prioritise patients with urgent skin conditions such as cancer.

It is also anticipated that the move to a community provider for routine skin conditions will result in shorter waiting times for patients.

Patients already receiving treatment at New Cross Hospital will remain with New Cross Hospital for the continuation of their treatment. New patients will now receive their care by one of HealthHarmonie’s dermatologists at one of several locations available.

Experienced clinicians at HealthHarmonie are also working closely with Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust to review referrals for new patients as part of the transfer.

All patients will receive an invitation to make an appointment with the new provider and when the appointment is due, one of the Clinic Administrators will contact patients directly to offer a choice of location, date and time.

Letters will then be sent in the post confirming the details of the agreed appointment, including the name of the doctor, along with a map and travel link information to help. Anyone wising to review the doctors employed by HealthHarmonie can visit their website at www.healthharmonie.com or contact a member of their team on the details below:
