Director of Integration
A graduate in social science, Rob joined the NHS after a period working in local government. He spent the first half of his career in operational management, working in acute hospitals and community services and gaining his MBA, before switching to specialised commissioning where he spent 12 years. Rob commissioned the new Heart Centre in Wolverhampton, and commissioned the first network based Primary Angioplasty Service across hospitals and ambulances services in the Black Country, later going on to work on national policy developments for specialised Renal Services and Transplantation Programmes.
More recently Rob worked within the Local NHS England Area Team and completed the Nye Bevan Leadership Programme, following which he returned to a commissioning role with the CCGs in March 2014. Rob has always been passionate about working with clinicians to make improvements in patient care and optimise the use of NHS resources for the local population.
As Director of Integrated Commissioning, Rob’s responsibilities cover operational and strategic commissioning and contract management of urgent and unplanned care services, as well as the individual and complex care portfolio and mental health services. In addition he manages the hosted Urgent Care Team for Staffordshire, currently undertaking the Programme Director Role for Urgent Care for the Staffordshire-wide Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP). He is also the lead Director for the Staffordshire CCGs for Continuing Healthcare and Transforming Care Programme for Learning Disabilities.
